Maryland
History Lecture Series at St.
John’s College
Who was Anne Arundel County’s namesake? Why did Abraham Lincoln
visit Annapolis
for a peace conference? These are just a few of the moments in history that the
2008-09 Maryland History Lecture Series explores. The series, which is
co-sponsored by the Anne Arundel County Trust for Preservation and the Friends
of St. John’s College, takes the theme “Exploring Our Roots” this year and each
lecture focuses on a different facet of Maryland history. The lectures, which are
free and open to the public, will be held in the Francis Scott Key Auditorium,
at 8:15 p.m.
Each lecture will be preceded by a
candlelit dinner. Dinners, held at 7:15 p.m. in Randall Hall must be paid in
advance. The full series of five dinners is $150.00. A single reservation is
$30.00. Full-series subscribers are guaranteed reservations. To make a
reservation contact Anne Zolkower at 410-626-2507 or anne.zolkower@sjca.edu.
